Sweet Surprise

As I mentioned in my last post, we got an iMac. It is AWESOME. So, today, while on a conference call (Yes - I am so productive!!!), I was burning discs of pictures that were on my laptop. I found some .MOV files that my PC wouldn't play. Luckily, the AWESOME iMAC will!!!! What a wonderful, wonderful surprise....

We are off to the beach tomorrow for a week in St. Augustine (2 weeks for me, Molly and my Mom!!) with my parents and my sister's family. 6 adults, 1 five year old, 1 five month old and 1 three month old. It should be interesting! I also have some posts I need to write about Molly's performance at Pottery Barn about a week and a half ago and life in general, but, this video took the cake! I had to post it right away!!

The fastest 5 months of my life...

I can't believe Molly is already 5 months old!!! Wow...it has FLOWN by...that sounds so cliche, but it really is the truth!

We got an iMac this weekend...you know, because we are millionaires and can just buy stuff all the time :) Really, we had been considering a new computer because our laptop is on it's last leg and has every picture of the past 5 years on it. My sister recently got an iMac and so...you know. We gotta keep up! HA! Regardless, it is the coolest computer EVER!!!! I digress...

So, Miss Molly Kate is 5 months old. I can't even stand it. I still go to her room every night before I go to sleep and stare in amazement that this piece
of heaven is ours. She is an answer to countless prayers...and while I understand that no one is perfect...she is MY piece of perfection.

Not long ago on that snowy Friday night our little girl changed our lives forever. 5 months later, check out this laughing little girl...

Happy 2 month birthday, Molly!

Tomorrow, Molly will be 2 months old. It's amazing how slow the last 2 months of pregnancy creep by...and how fast the first 2 months of being a mom fly by! I've learned so much over the past 2 months...it has been the most wonderful, tiring, emotionally filled 2 months of my life.

A few things I've learned:
  • Just because poop is in the diaper, doesn't mean there isn't more on the way

  • girls can tee-tee all over the place just like boys

  • 1 spare outfit is never enough

  • breastfeeding is the most wonderful gift

  • a girl can never have too many clothes!

  • babies can wear spanx too! Note to self: a 2 month old has no business trying to wear a new born sized onesie...

  • Dad's don't understand how to stay up all night with a newborn and still function the next day, but that's OK. They understand other things...

  • Grandparents will likely never really follow Mom's strict schedule, and that's OK, too.

  • Grandparents are a God-send when Mommy needs a little time...be it a nap or a trip to Target.

  • Trips to the beach with an infant aren't quite the same...but thankfully, grandparents are there to help.

  • Great Aunts and Uncles are super fun to meet :)

  • It REALLY CAN take 45 minutes just to get the car loaded for ... a trip to the grocery store.

  • Dogs REALLY DO become 2nd class citizens when a baby arrives.

  • Babies REALLY DO require lots of apparatus.

  • A Tahoe might be too small for a family of 3 on a road trip.

  • Breast feeding is sort of a pain on a road trip...

  • A baby does really change your life the minute they arrive.

  • You really never know how much you can love someone until you hold your child for the first time...

Happy 2 months Molly Moo!!! You changed my life and made it richer the moment you took your first breath...

The greatest month of my life...

Molly was a month old on Friday! I can't believe how quickly the time has passed...she'll be off to college before I know it!

Here she is at 1 week:

Here she is at 1 month:

Here are some things that have happened over the last month:

  • Molly has met her family - grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, great aunts and uncles and other extended family and friends
  • She has moved from sleeping in her pack and play in our room to her crib in her very own room
  • She went to St. Augustine with me and her Nanna
  • She "ate" at Chick Fil A with me, Nanna and her other grandmother - Annie - in Macon and then went out to dinner twice in St. Augustine
  • She's been licked in the face by her "brother" and "sister" - Sidda and Buffet (our dogs)
  • She's spent the night at Nanna and Pop's (with Mommy and Daddy, of course!)
  • She's eaten from a bottle (although, she seems to spit up more than when she nurses)
  • She has gone 5 hours in between feedings!!!!
  • She's been dressed up in bathing suits and outfits by her Momma :)
  • She's had her picture taken about a million times
  • But, mostly, she's brought more joy to our lives than we ever knew possible. She's been loved more than I ever dreamed possible. She's forever changed our life.
